Starting a New Project --------------------------- Returning clients can start a new translation project by simply logging in with the password and email address used previously and clicking on Create a New Project. New clients can start a new translation project by any one of the following methods: - Registration (click here to register as a client now)
- Choosing a translator (click here to search for a translator now)
- Submitting a document (click here to submit a document now)
Choosing a Translator ------------------------- Click here to select a translator now! Test it now and see how simple it is to find a qualified and experienced translator perfect for the job at hand. You can choose your translator according to your source language (the language of the document being submitted) and the desired target language (the language you wish to have the document translated into). You also have the option of specifying a location-the city or state where the translator lives-or a specialization-the area or subject matter in which the translator has experience. If you are a returning client and you wish to use the same translator again you only need to enter the translator name and ID in the appropriate search box. To begin, you can search for translators and request an estimate from those translators who meet your needs. Selected translators will receive an email notification of this request and respond immediately. The replies will be directed to the appropriate client through the TH (TranslationHelp) message center. This system depends on the subject of each email remaining intact. You can add your own text to the subject but DO NOT REMOVE OR CHANGE THE SUBJECT TEXT ALREADY PRESENT. If you do, then the translator WILL NOT receive your messages. For safety and security reasons as well as quality control concerns, all messages to and from clients and translators are monitored. Personal contact information must never be shared between clients and translators. All contact information-email addresses, Web site addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, last names etc.-will be removed automatically from all messages to and from clients and translators. TranslationHelp does not, and will never, sell, trade, barter or give away your personal information to anyone or any company without your express written consent. Payment ---------- TranslationHelp accepts payment by credit card via PayPal our payment processor. You can also pay directly from your own PayPal account if you have one and we accept checks, money orders, Western Union and direct deposits. Once a project has begun you will receive an invoice by email with instructions and options on how to make payment. Payment is made to TranslationHelp and the money is held until the project is complete and you, the client are satisfied. Only then, when you are satisfied that the job was done professionally and on time, will the translator be paid. For large jobs a deposit of 50% of the total price of the project will be required. top
TRANSLATORS Overview ----------- TranslationHelp is a free, self-promotional tool for freelance translators. TH gets a percentage of each project. In return TH accepts responsibility for the collection of fees from clients and payment to translators. TH is committed to providing as much work as possible to translators and will do its best to promote the TH Web site to attract more clients. The more translators there are on TH the more clients will come. The more pages and the wider the variety of specializations on the TH site the better the exposure to potential clients. Contacting Clients -------------------- Once a client makes contact, you are free to discuss the project at hand. Personal contact information must never be shared between clients and translators. All contact information-email addresses, Web site addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, last names etc.-will be removed automatically from all messages to and from clients and translators. After an initial warning any translator caught trying to circumvent this rule will be removed from the TH database immediately and permanently. TranslationHelp does not, and will never, sell, trade, barter or give away your personal information to anyone or any company without your express written consent. Receiving Projects ------------------------ When a client comes to the TH Web site they will search for translators and request an estimate from those translators who meet their needs . Selected translators will receive an email notification of this request and should respond immediately. The replies will be directed to the appropriate client through the TH message center. All messages to and from clients and translators are monitored as a quality control measure. This system depends on the subject of each email remaining intact. You can add your own text to the subject but DO NOT REMOVE OR CHANGE THE SUBJECT TEXT ALREADY PRESENT. If you do, then the client WILL NOT receive your messages. The Translator Registration Process --------------------------------------- Each translator is required to enter their contact information, work history, experience, and provide three references on the registration page. These references will be checked. All personal information is kept strictly confidential and is only used in the process of communicating with clients. This process does not divulge any personal information to clients except your first name, your TranslationHelp ID# and your city, state/province and country. TranslationHelp does not and will never sell, trade, barter or give away your personal information to anyone or any company without your express written consent. After registering and entering the required information you will log in for the first time and be tested in your Target Language and your Source Language. The testing procedure is unique to TH and the final product of the testing will be beneficial to your job search. Each translator is required to create three to four "Client Attractor" pages. Each of these pages will contain a "Contact " link from which clients can contact you. Your TH Web pages will not be activated until all your pages are created and examined by the TH admin and checked by another translator. Your TH Web Pages ---------------------- Two of these pages will be your TH profile-one in your source language and one in your target language-from which clients will contact you to request estimates on projects. In addition to the above profile pages you are required to create a specialization page. This page is used to provide information about the field of translation in which you specialize. It should NOT be a description of YOUR abilities but rather a description of the area of specialization itself. Do not use words such as "I" or "my". The purpose of this page is to attract the search engines who are hungry for information about specific topics. This page will help you in your hunt for clients by attracting those clients in need of a translator in the field you are writing about. The optional language and location page pages are only available for creation on a first come first serve basis since only one page for each language and location is necessary. Many clients request a translator in their area and often search for translators using the city or state/province name where they are located. The location page is a description of the city and state where the translator lives. DO NOT put your actual address or any specific location information aside from the city or state name. ***NOTE*** No personal contact information is allowed on any of these pages. No telephone numbers, no email addresses, no links to other Web sites, and no last names. No personal contact information of any kind. Testing -------- TranslationHelp tests all translators' abilities in both their source language and their target language in a unique and rigorous manner. Every translator MUST create a Web page profile in English. Each translator will then translate this profile into the target language and the source language they have chosen, one page for each language. (***NOTE*** If the translator's source or target language is English then that translator only needs to create two pages. If neither the source or target languages are English then three pages will have to be created. These pages are then checked for accuracy by the TH admin as well as another translator with the same target language and source language. At some point in the future the translator will also be asked to check the pages of another newly registered translator registering with the same target and source language and submit a report on the page being checked. This report will be examined by TH admin. Thus, every translator is tested twice in each of his target and source languages-once when registering and once when checking. The completion of this process is a strict requirement for registration. The links below will take you to the page creation forms now! - Your TH Web Page and Profile creation form
